Mosques and Places of Worship

About

Construction began in 2015, commissioned by the charitable foundation "BlagoDareniye", the project was developed by the "Architectural Workshop of Evgeny Bolotny". The main investors: Ravil Ziganshin (head of the Production and Construction Association "Kazan") and Irek Salikhov (head of the oil company "Yadran-Oil"). The land for construction was donated by its owner (Alexander Pilishkin, head of the company "Tatnefteprovodstroy"). The mosque's status is certainly enhanced by its surroundings: the historic city center, the embankment, the Palace of Farmers, elite residential complexes (one called "Palace Embankment", the other popularly known as the "Oil Workers' Settlement"). According to the architects' concept, the new mosque was meant to stand out not so much by monumentality as by elegance and beauty of decoration. And their idea was successfully brought to life! The mosque has traditional Islamic minarets (there are two here) and a dome decorated with smalt mosaic with gold leaf. The combination of pure white marble and blue color in the decoration creates a sense of lightness; the entire ensemble looks harmonious and very airy. The interior decoration is also elegant, with traditional geometric patterns and plant motifs used in the painting of the walls and dome. A large amount of natural light is complemented by a chandelier in the center, openwork galleries, and balconies.
