About

The mosque was built in 1887 with donations from wealthy Tatar merchants Murtaza Atsimev and completed in 1890. The architectural style of the mosque, whose authorship is unknown, represents national romantic eclecticism. The mosque has a minaret 51 meters high. The mosque is single-story, with two halls, and its interior spaces are designed according to medieval Eastern traditions. In 1930, the mosque was closed for worship, but in 1990-1992 its interior and exterior were restored, and in 1992 it was reopened for worship.
